Icebox 480/240

Saturday, November 2, 2024
Whitetail Ridge, River Falls, WI

Need help with registration costs? Drop us a line.

Get ready to test your endurance at the Icebox event, a timed challenge that allows you to accumulate as many miles as possible on a beautiful single-track course (5ish miles per loop) before time runs out. Choose between a 4-hour or 8-hour challenge and start anytime between 6:00 am and 8:00 am.

In the race's final hour, you can tackle a 1-mile loop (1.05, actually) to push yourself even further. This event is an excellent opportunity to test stamina and explore the park's beautiful trails. Whether you're a seasoned runner or new to the sport, we hope you'll join us for the Icebox challenge.

The Icebox course is just across the border from the Twin Cities down highway 94.

Start times

Registration opens: 5:30ish am
Starting time range: 6:00 am - 8:00 am

Because of the single-track course, we have opted for a time range start over a group start. This start allows runners to find their own pace instead of being stuck behind or ahead of another runner.

Start

Before you begin, you will record your start time on the large display board next to your name with a provided marker. As you return from your loop, you are responsible for tracking it on the display boards.

When you finish, be it on your own or when your 480/240 minutes are complete, you will record your finish time on the display board.

Drop bags

You may keep your drop bags available at the start point. Be sure to bring anything you may need in your drop bag to ensure that you have a successful race experience.

Cupless event

To keep our environmental footprint to a minimum, all St.Croix Running Company events are cupless. Please bring a water container that you can fill at our aid stations as needed.

Aid station

We will have a robust aid station again this year with your typical snacks available. As the day goes on more robust “snacks” will become available. chicken noodle soup, quesadilla, mash potatoes amongst other things.

Restrooms

We will have portable toilets available at the start point and ask that you use these facilities and keep the trails clean.

Lodging

There is no immediate camping access in or near the event. If you would like to camp I suggest you contact the Willow River State Park (14 miles away). If a hotel is more your style consider the many hotels in the area - From Hudson, WI. to Stillwater and Woodbury MN. I'm sure you'll find something right for you.

Parking

Parking is only permitted on the streets near the race sites. No parking is allowed in the business parking lots - If you do you run the risk of being ticketed and/or towed.

Pacers and crew

Pacers are NOT allowed. Runners can have a crew but may only administer aid near the aid stations or drop bad areas.

Inclusion

The St. Croix Running Company continues to work to create an environment where everyone feels empowered in their pursuits. We will engage our participants, volunteers, and community to ensure we build events where all people feel welcome, safe, and connected regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, identity, socioeconomic status, religion, or political beliefs.

We constantly strive to learn and get better in all we do. To do this, we need your feedback to get better.

Delay, suspend, or cancel the event

The race director reserves the right to delay, suspend or cancel any part or all of the event if; weather conditions, acts of your god or mine deem it dangerous to the participants, volunteers, staff, or harmful to the course.

If the event needs to be canceled or delayed, we will contact you by email, website, and/or social media. No refunds or transfers are allowed.
