Get ready to tackle some serious terrain at the Trout Brook 10-miler, a challenging trail race through Willow River State Park. This race will take you off the wide-open park trails and onto various single-track trails that will test your skills. The course includes hills, a stair climb (removed this year due to damage), and breathtaking views of a majestic waterfall. This race is perfect for experienced trail runners looking for a new challenge or anyone wanting to explore Willow River State Park's beautiful, less-traveled areas. Where

Willow River State Park - 1034 County Highway A, Hudson, WI 54016

 

From downtown Hudson, at the Vine Street stoplight, turn east. Follow Vine Street up the hill to County Highway A. Turn left and follow County A to the park entrance.

From Interstate Highway 94, take Exit # 4 and go north on US Highway 12 for about 3.5 miles. The park entrance will be on the left.


Registration

Upon entering the state park, follow the main road to the "bottom" and park in the large parking area near the visitor center/beach. Pick up your bib and race day swag at the large picnic shelter. (arrive early enough to pay park admission and park.)

Registration opens at 7:00 a.m.


Start time

The race will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m., near the registration area. Look for the large feather St. Croix Running Company flag.


Pre-race briefing

There will be a short pre-race briefing about 5 minutes before the start of the race.


Parking admission

Parking admission costs can be found on the Willow River State Park site.

We ask that runners and volunteers park in the parking lot near the nature center/start area at the park's southern part. Follow the signs upon arrival or ask for assistance at the front office.


Aid station (4.2 miles)

An aid station with water, Heed, and a collection of individually wrapped snacks will be available at roughly the halfway point. Also, one restroom will be available.


Cupless event

All St. Croix Running Company events are cupless. Please bring a full water container/bladder to begin the race. You can top your containers at the aid station near the halfway point (4.2 miles).


Restrooms

Restrooms will be open at the start line, and a portable toilet will be available at the aid station. We ask that you use these facilities and keep the trails clean. Leave no trace.


DNF (Did Not Finish)

If you need to drop from the race, remove your bib and give it to the race director or an aid station captain.

If you leave the course and fail to notify the race officials, you will be asked not to participate in future St. Croix Running Company events.

Delay, suspend, or cancel the event.

The race director reserves the right to delay, suspend, or cancel any part or all of the event if weather conditions or acts of your god or mine deem it dangerous to the participants, volunteers, staff or harmful to the course.

If the event needs to be canceled or delayed, we will contact you by email, website, and/or social media. No refunds or transfers are allowed.
