Join us for the In Yan Teopa trail race, which will take you through the challenging terrain of Frontenac State Park. The race offers 5-mile and 10-mile courses that take you through various landscapes, including rolling prairies, single-track trails, and “inspiring“ climbs.
Whether you’re a seasoned trail runner or new to the sport, this race will surely provide an exciting and rewarding experience. Take advantage of this opportunity to test your endurance and take in the breathtaking views of Frontenac State Park. We hope to see you there!

Frontenac State Park is located 10 miles southeast of Red Wing, MN, or 5 miles northwest of Lake City, MN, on Highway 61.
Start time
10-miler starts at 8:00 am
5-miler starts at 8:05 am
Cupless event
All St. Croix Running Company events have removed paper cups to reduce our environmental footprint. We encourage you to bring a water bottle, container, or running vest for your journey. Water will be available at the start/finish line and the mid-way aid station on the 10-mile course.
Lodging
The park offers a full range of camping sites, from RVs to tents, with all the amenities. To learn more and to make a reservation, visit here.
If you prefer a hotel, consider the many in the area, from Red Wing, MN., to Lake City, MN. I'm sure you'll find something suitable.
Registration
Registration starts at 7:00 AM and closes 10 minutes before the race. Be sure to arrive early enough to pay for park admission and park.
Parking admission
Admission fees are available at the Frontenac State Park site.
We ask that runners and volunteers park in the lot near the top of the park.
Aid station
Water, fruit, snacks, and other surprises will be available. To keep the park clean and reduce waste, we ask you to CARRY A WATER CONTAINER.
Restrooms
Restrooms are available at the start and finish lines. Please use them before the race and keep the trails clean. LEAVE NO TRACE!
DNF (Did Not Finish)
If you need to drop out of the race, just remove your bib and hand it to the aid station volunteer or the race director.
Suppose you leave the course and fail to notify race officials. In that case, you will be asked not to participate in future St. Croix Running Company events.

Delay, suspend, or cancel the event.
The race director reserves the right to delay, suspend, or cancel any part or all of the event if weather conditions or acts of God, or mine, deem it dangerous to participants, volunteers, or staff, or harmful to the course.
